- The Lockheed C-5A Galaxy is one of the largest military transport aircraft ever built, designed to provide the U.S. Air Force with unmatched strategic airlift capability. Developed by Lockheed Martin, the C-5A entered service during the Cold War to move oversized cargo, including tanks, helicopters, and heavy equipment, across intercontinental distances.
